Participation

Absolutely not. Firewalking is an invitation, not a requirement. Observers are honored participants too—witnessing, drumming, cheering, and holding space. Consent is paramount: you decide if and when you walk.

Most folks in good physical and emotional health can participate. Children may join with parental consent and supervision. If you have mobility or accessibility needs, tell us ahead of time so we can accommodate you.

Preparation

Dress for the weather in comfortable clothing. Natural fibers (cotton, wool) are preferred around the fire. Avoid very loose sleeves. You’ll be barefoot to walk; bring a small towel to clean your feet afterward.

Bring a water bottle, any comfort items (journal, light blanket), and an open mind. For overnight retreats, we’ll send a packing list. We provide all materials needed for the firewalk itself.

Health & Safety

If you’re pregnant, immunocompromised, or have conditions affecting skin or circulation, please consult your healthcare provider first. Let us know your concerns—we can suggest alternatives like glasswalk, board breaking, or arrow snapping if that’s better for you.

Properly facilitated firewalks have an excellent safety record. Minor blisters can occasionally occur (similar to a sunburn); serious injuries are rare when protocols are followed. We teach foot care, monitor the ember bed, and center consent. If you don’t feel ready, you can always opt out. Learn more about our approach on the Safety page.

Weather & Refunds

We can safely conduct firewalks in light rain. For severe weather, we may adjust the schedule, move indoors for alternate empowerment activities, or reschedule. We’ll communicate updates promptly.

Please see our full Refund & Cancellation Policy for timelines and fees for individual and group bookings.
