Our Safety Protocols

Safety isn’t an afterthought — it’s woven into everything we do. We follow proven best practices and maintain a clear, calm container for the work.

  • Qualified instructors: All firewalks are led by certified Master Firewalk Instructors with extensive hands-on training.
  • Pre-walk briefing: Orientation covers mindset, breathwork, consent, what to expect, and when to opt out.
  • Wood preparation: Seasoned woods are selected and managed to create a consistent ember bed.
  • Walkway design: The path is leveled, raked, and inspected repeatedly to remove hazards.
  • Foot care: Wash stations and natural salves are available before and after the walk.
  • Readiness: First-aid kit, water, and facilitator check-ins are present throughout the event.

Wood Selection & Preparation

Quality fuel equals a quality walk. We typically use local woods (e.g., cedar or birch) that burn down to even, glowing coals with minimal smoke. The team tends the fire from ignition through rake-out, spreading coals to an even depth and removing sharp edges.

We avoid treated lumber and construction scraps. Unused wood is returned to the land, reflecting our commitment to mindful stewardship.
